A creative deep dive into commercial food photography and video with Lucia Marecak
Join me for 4 intense shoot days in Turin, where we will deep dive into commercial food photography & video. This workshop is a comprehensive creative experience designed for photographers (beginners and intermediate) who want to master the art of commercial food photography & video for food brands, packaging, website, e-commerce and social media content and create commercial images for their portfolio.
If you’ve been working as a food blogger, content creator, or beginner photographer, and you're ready to move towards food product photography, this workshop will support you on your transition to a professional food product photographer.
What you can expect:
You’ll be part of a very small group — just 5 participants — which means personal attention, a relaxed atmosphere, and lots of time to practice.
We’ll spend 3,5 days creating together. You’ll work on different commercial product images and styles, using colorful backgrounds, trying out various moods, and learning to adapt your style to different products and needs.
We’ll photograph chocolate, wine bottles, cocktails, and other food-related products. You will create product focused images that you will be able to add to your portfolio. You’ll practice using artificial light and learn how to create:
- Clean white background images for e-commerce
- Group and lifestyle product shots
- Product images with bold, colorful backdrops
- More complex scenes like wine bottles and glass reflections
- Commercial food product focused video and you will learn how to use Premiere Pro.
We’ll build the sets together, shoot, edit, and retouch everything on the spot. We will be using cubes, curtains, paper backgrounds, changing colors in Photoshop, working on complex composites, all you need to learn product photography and videography.
This is not a retreat or sightseeing trip — it’s an intensive, creative workshop. Think of it like a real commercial shoot for a food brand, with full days focused on producing strong, professional visuals — both photo and video.

Food Product Photography & Videography workshop
I will teach you how to photograph and film food products, so you can confidently work with brands and create professional commercial content for your clients.
We’ll set up a complete photo and video studio in a beautiful apartment in the historic center of Turin. This will show you how to recreate a commercial studio setup from anywhere — whether you're working from home or on location.
We’ll dive deep into the shooting process, creating real commercial images and video based on actual client requests I’ve received. You won’t just watch — you’ll be actively involved in the entire shoot: building the scenes, experimenting, creating, and collaborating with others.
I’ll guide you step-by-step, showing you how I work, supporting you with feedback, and challenging you to think like a creative professional. We’ll have a clear shot list and a well-structured plan for each day, just like in a real client project.
The workshop will run from 9:00 to 19:00 every day, and your evenings will be free — perfect for exploring Turin on your own or spending time with the group.
You’ll stay in the same fully equipped apartment where we shoot — a cozy, stylish flat right in the historic center, just a short walk from the main train station.
No matter your background or experience level, you’ll leave this workshop full of new insights, inspiration, and practical skills. You’ll also connect with other creatives and be part of a warm, supportive group.

When & where?
You'll stay for 4 nights in a beautiful apartment located in the historic center of Turin, Italy (Apartment has 3 bedrooms, 200sqm and a terrace of 40 sqm).
The workshop will happen in the same apartment where you’ll be staying. We’ll transform the space into a complete photo and video studio — comfortable, creative, and inspiring.
Getting to Turin is easy:
Turin has its own international airport, or you can fly into Milan, Florence, or Bologna — the city is well connected by fast trains.
The apartment is just a few minutes’ walk from Torino Porta Susa or Torino Porta Nuova train station.

Program of the workshop:
This workshop is designed to feel like a real commercial shoot — intense, practical, and full of learning. You’ll be part of every step: planning, shooting, editing, and reviewing. Here's how the week will look:
Day 1 – Arrival & Preproduction -Starts at 16:00
- Welcome & introduction
- Planning the days ahead
- Creating the shot list together
- Building a shared mood board
This session will set the direction for the entire workshop. We’ll get aligned on what we’re going to create and how.
Day 2 – Full Day of Shooting: Video Creation & Product Photography
- 9:00 – 13:00 Filming a commercial video of a product & Editing the video together
- 13:00 – 14:00 – Lunch break
- 14:00 – 19:00 - Shooting and editing 2–3 final product images
Day 3 – Full Day of Shooting
- 9:00 – 19:00 (with lunch break around 13:00) - New products, new challenges, Shooting and editing multiple commercial images, Focus on clean setups, e-commerce images, and lifestyle scenes
Day 4 – Full Day of Shooting
- 9:00 – 19:00 (with lunch break around 13:00) - Advanced setups: wine bottles, cocktails, group product scenes, Editing and retouching practice Feedback and review of your work
Day 5 – Goodbye & Departure
- Check-out and leaving the apartment by 10:00
PS: the schedule of the days will be busy and challenging, but, allowing everyone to learn and practice.
